Nadezhda Sailing Ship Welcomed in Hai Phong

On July 10, 2017 the Nadezhda sailing ship arrived at the Vietnamese port of Hai Phong. The ship will stay in the port for four days in order to develop and strengthen relations with the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Various official meetings, cultural events and excursions will be held aboard the ship.

On the day of arrival the sailing ship was welcomed by representatives of the Russian Embassy in Vietnam, the Administration of Hai Phong, different ministries and agencies of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

On July 11, minister-counsellor of the Russian Embassy in Vietnam Vadim Bublikov, representatives of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, military commanders and Vietnamese veterans visited the ship.

Cadets undergoing training welcomed the honorary guests by marching in full dress uniform. The national anthems of the Russian Federation and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam were played by the musical orchestra. By tradition the cadets demonstrated the commands “man the yards!” and “all hands on deck” by hoisting the gaff-sails. In addition, the cadets took part in a concert of amateur art.

During the mooring in the city, an open board has been organized. Those who wish can attend the sailing ship and get acquainted with the crew. Excursions will be organized for the guests. Cadets will tell the guests about the ship's construction and brief on the style of life on one of the most beautiful sailing ships.

The mooring in Hai Phong will last till July 14. The sailing ship will continue its voyage, and Vladivostok will be the final point of the voyage.
