New Boat Launched at Onega Shipbuilding and Ship-Repairing Yard

A solemn ceremony was held in Petrozavodsk at the Onega Shipbuilding and Ship-Repairing Yard on June 9, 2017 to launch the Kapitan Cheremnykh workboat with ice strengthening for FSUE “Rosmorport”.

The vessel is intended to be used for general services, to deliver commissions and crew members aboard vessels, carry cargoes, perform patrolling, examination and environmental monitoring of the water areas. In addition, the Kapitan Cheremnykh can carry out the functions of a pilot's boat. Nautical capacities will allow it to operate in severe meteorological conditions in open sea in wave disturbances with wave elevation higher than 3.5 m.

The boat will operate in rivers' mouth, coastal zones of open and inland seas, gulfs, harbor waters with the removal from the site of shelter no more than 20 miles.

The launch of the boat is one of the stages of the construction. Afloat outfitting works, mooring and sea trials will be carried out after what the boat is put into operation.

The Kapitan Cheremnykh is one of the six boats of ST23WIM Project being built for FSUE “Rosmorport” at the Onega Shipbuilding and Ship-Repairing Yard.
