Severnaya Dvina Dredger Starts Operations in Arkhangelsk

On April 23, 2017 a trailing suction hopper dredger Severnaya Dvina started dredging operations in the main marine canal of the Arkhangelsk seaport.

In total approximately 1.7 mln m3 of soil is planned to be extracted in this area to maintain rated depths in 2017.

The whole amount of work will be performed by the dredging fleet owned by FSUE “Rosmorport”.

Severnaya Dvina dredger of the TSHD 2000 project was constructed in the Song Thu ship-assembly yard (Danang city, Vietnam) in 2016.

The dredger project meets modern requirements of the severe climate conditions of the Northern region. Severnaya Dvina can operate within the ambient temperature limits from -35°C to +40°C. The dredger is equipped with necessary dredging equipment of high-efficiency as well as with additional equipment that allows conducting dredging operations in the restricted areas at piers and berths.
