In 2016 the Volume of Dredging Works of FSUE Rosmorport Has Made More Than 11 Million Cubic Meters

FSUE “Rosmorport” is the largest title owner of objects of coastal and port infrastructure and auxiliary fleet. More than 50% of all berthing facilities which are located in 65 of 67 seaports of Russia are under economic management of the enterprise. The property of FSUE “Rosmorport” is placed on the land plots at the seaports of Russia with the total area of over 758 hectares.

In order to provide safe calls of vessels at seaports, the FSUE “Rosmorport” is implementing a package of measures, directed to protection of human life at sea. A security guarantee of navigation of vessels is ensuring passport depths of water areas of seaports of Russia which are reached and supported by carrying out dredging works.

In 2016 FSUE “Rosmorport” has performed repair dredging on approach channels and water areas of seaports of the country in the total amount of 11 million cubic meters, having improved indicators of previous year by over 30%. This result is a record for all history of the enterprise.

The major part of works has been carried out on the Volga-Caspian Marine Shipping Canal (VCMSC), Kaliningrad and Azovo-Donskoy sea canals, the Taganrog approach canal. Besides, repair dredging was carried out in the water areas and approach canals in the seaports of Arkhangelsk? Makhachkala, Tuapse, Temryuk, Kavkaz, Eysk, Shakhtyorsk, Ust-Luga and Novorossiysk.

Significant physical and economical effects of repair dredging were reached due to the use of the own dredging fleet of the enterprise. In 2016, the first non-propelled cutter dredger Petr Sablin was purchased for operation on the VCMSC section. In the Arkhangelsk Branch the works were performed by Severnaya Dvina self-propelled dredger with hold capacity 2,000 cub. m. Kadosh self-moving dredger was transferred to the Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch, Kronshlot  and Sommers self-moving dredgers  were transferred to the North-Western Basin Branch.
