The Open Ladder Day was held on Khersones sailing ship on October 30, 2016.

The ceremonial event was timed to the celebration of the 320th anniversary of the Russian Maritime Fleet establishment. During the event, everyone could board the legendary sailing ship, to get acquainted with the vessels’ organization and sailors’ life. Guests talked with the Khersones master and crew and participated in various competitions and master classes.

Deputy Governor of Sevastopol Ilya Ponomarev and Khersones STS master Dmitry Teslenko greeted the celebration guests.

Exhibition of paintings by artist Oleg Tantsyura “Under Khersones Sails” was held within the event. The works were produced on board of the vessel during its participation in the Black Sea Tall Ships Regatta 2016. “Mitki” Creative association presented the greatest sailor shirt in the world, which was tried on by 16 people at the same time. Specially for the Open Ladder Day, the sailor shirt was delivered from the Central Naval Museum in Saint Petersburg - one of Russia's oldest and one of the largest maritime museums in the world.

At the end of the celebration, the award ceremony of winners of the regatta of the Sailing Federation of Sevastopol “Closing of the season 2016” was held.
