For reference:

The Murmansk Marine Station is located on the lower terrace of the city of Murmansk.

First passengers arrived in two-storey wooden building on coastal pier of the Murmansk Commercial Seaport in 1935.

New building constructed under the project developed by scientific research institute “Lenmorniiproekt” was commissioned in 1961. It was a two-storey brick building with area of 1700.1 square meters, the building area was 1344.0 sq. m.

Until 1994, the building was a part of the passenger area of the Murmansk Commercial Seaport. Then it was transferred to the operational management of SI “Murmansk Sea Port Maritime Administration" and was partially leased.

Since March 2004 the building is in the economic management of FSUE “Rosmorport”. Until mid-2011, it was leased by the organizations providing passenger and vessels handling services.

Due to the fact that the building of the marine station did not meet the modern requirements for maritime passenger harbors, as well as in connection with the implementation of the program for preparation to celebrating the 100th anniversary of the city of Murmansk and the need for implementation of the “Arctic harbor” project, decision was made on its reconstruction with building up of the third floor.

The project developed by OOO “Terminus” and revised by OAO “Lenmorniiproekt” was implemented by FSUE “Rosmorport” under the state contract (at the expense of federal funds) and at the expense of own funds. The general contractor was OOO “Restoration and construction company” Vozrozhdenie”.

The works under the state contract was completed on September 15, 2016.

Conclusion on conformity of the constructed capital construction facility to requirements of technical regulations and project documentation was received on September 30, 2016.
