Mir Sailing Ship Congratulates the Hamburg Port

On May 5-8, 2016 training sailing ship Mir took part in the celebration of 827th anniversary of the founding of the port of Hamburg. These days all residents and guests of the city were given the opportunity to get on board: visitors were invited to stand at the helm of the famous sailing ship, hit the bell and get acquainted with the life of cadets.

As a part of the festive events excursions for children from the Russian “Azbuka” school  were held, during which the cadets from Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping who were having internship on the vessel, spoke in detail about the sailboat design, their sailing practice and nautical professions.

On May 7 a mini-football tournament, in which the team of Mir TSS took the honorable 3rd place, was conducted. On the same day the sailboat was attended by representatives of the port of Hamburg Port Administration, who watched the fireworks directly from its deck .

Next destination for Mir sailing ship will be the seaport of Larvik (Norway).
