On April 27, 2016 at the Onezhsky Ship Building and Ship Repairing Plant solemn launching of Krutoyar mark boat of project 02780М took place.

Head of the Republic of Karelia Alexander Khudilainen, General Director of FSUE “Rosmorport” Andrey Tarasenko, General Director of the Onezhsky Ship Building and Ship Repairing Plant Vladimir Mayzus and other officials participated in the launching ceremony.

“You have built a handsome ship, the likes of which I haven't seen on any of the shipyards I visited, from Vladivostok to Kaliningrad,” said General Director of FSUE “Rosmorport” Andrei Tarasenko in his speech.

During the event, there was held a traditional ceremony of the ship “christening”. According to the naval tradition Svetlana Lysakova, the “godmother” of Krutoyar broke the champagne bottle on the bow of the ship, marking the beginning of its “new life”.

The vessel has been constructed for the purpose of maintenance and inspection of aids to navigation (ATON) to ensure the safety of navigation in the seaports of the country. Also Krutoyar will carry and service medium marine buoys with mooring devices.

Boat is planned to be operated in the North-Western Basin Branch of FSUE “Rosmorport”. Currently, in the area of responsibility of the enterprise on the approaches to the seaports of Vyborg and Vysotsk there are 230 units of ATON, the total length of the arrangement thereof is 150 miles (about 200 km).
