On 25 March 2016 FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director Andrey Tarasenko held a meeting with representatives of Maersk Line in the framework of his business trip to Saint-Petersburg.

The meeting was focused on the issues of Northern Sea Route development and conditions for business activities in that area. Mr. Tarasenko spoke in detail on the construction and development of Russian northern seaports.

The participants of the meeting traversed the prospects for increase in turnover of container shipping in the Northern Sea Route as an alternative to the existing routes, as well as the opinions of linear carriers on the possible state support measures to increase the attractiveness of the route.

Summing up the results of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue mutual cooperation and discussions of joint projects.
