By the order of Federal Agency of Sea and River Transport from July, 26th, 2010 № 79 quantity of categories and quantity indicators of categorization criteria for transport infrastructure facilities and transport means of sea and river transport are confirmed.

The order establishes four categories of transport infrastructure facilities and transport means of sea and river transport in the decreasing order of their importance - the first (I), the second (II), the third (III), the fourth (IV).

The reference of transport infrastructure facilities and transport means of sea and river transport to a certain category is made on the basis of the categorization criteria.

The categorization criteria are a degree of the threat of fulfillment of illegal intervention in the activity of a facility of transport infrastructure and transport means and its possible consequences.
