FSUE "Rosmorport" took part in a meeting on safety of navigation in the Baltic Sea

On May 26, FSUE "Rosmorport" took part in a meeting on the development of infrastructure of the seaport of Ust-Luga and ensuring safe navigation in the Baltic Sea.

The meeting was held by Nikolay Patrushev, Assistant to the President of Russia and Chairman of the Maritime Board of the Russian Federation. It was attended by the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Russia in the North-Western Federal District Alexander Gutsan, governors: Alexandr Drozdenko of the Leningrad Region, Alexandr Tsybulsky of the Arkhangelsk Region, Andrey Chibis of the Murmansk Region, and Artur Parfenchikov, head of the Republic of Karelia.

FSUE "Rosmorport" was represented by Alexandr Leschikov, Deputy General Director for Security, and Fedor Lukyanchikov, Deputy Director and Head of the Ust-Luga Department of the North-Western Basin Branch.

During his working visit to the Ust-Luga seaport, Nikolay Patrushev inspected key facilities of the largest logistics hub on the Baltic Sea, including the Automobile and railway ferry complex (ARFC) of FSUE "Rosmorport". The Assistant to the President of Russia emphasized the importance of the terminal, which serves ferries on the strategically important line "Seaport of Ust-Luga – Seaport of Kaliningrad". During the visit, they discussed the issues of loading of the ferry line, as well as the prospects of reconstruction of railway-ferry complexes.

In 2024, 25.3 thousand railcars and 25.4 thousand units of rolling stock were handled at ARFC, and cargo turnover amounted to 1,933 thousand tons. For four months of the current year, 679 thousand tons of cargo were handled, the volume of transshipment increased by more than 20 % compared to the same period last year.

Currently, the complex serves four automobile-railway ferries, which provide transportation accessibility of the Kaliningrad region. Three of them ("Baltiysk", "Marshal Rokossovsky", "General Chernyakhovsky") are operated by FSUE "Rosmorport".

During the visit, Nikolay Patrushev also discussed with the owners of terminals located in Ust-Luga investment projects that will allow to introduce new transshipment capacities and increase the cargo turnover of the seaport. In addition, the assistant to the head of state drew attention to the need to increase the handling of containerized cargo and the construction of deep-water berths.
