The General contractor resumes the construction of a ferry and passenger complex in the village of Ugolnye Kopi conducted by order of the FSUE “Rosmorport” (KPMI)

FSBI “Morspassluzhba” resumed construction of a ferry and passenger complex in the village Ugolnye Kopi (Chukotka) by order of FSUE ‘Rosmorport”, suspended at the end of 2020 with the onset of the winter season.

The General contractor initiated depreservation of the object, began the production of reinforcement cages for piers.

The construction of a complex is carried out within the framework of the federal project "Seaports of Russia" of the Comprehensive Plan for the Modernization and Expansion of Backbone Infrastructure until 2024.

In 2021 it is planned to complete hydrotechnical works on the formation of berths and coast protection, to build coastal buildings and structures as well as to carry out territory accomplishment.

For reference:

Construction of the sea berth is included in the state program "Transport System Development". The facility will provide safe sea transportation through the Anadyr Estuary on the route Anadyr – village Ugolnye Kopi, where the international airport Anadyr (Ugolnyi) is located. Now in the navigation period between Anadyr and the village Ugolnye Kopi passengers and vehicles are transported by passenger boats, barges and hovercrafts, as well as helicopters. However, the left bank of the Anadyr Estuary is not fully equipped for loading and unloading people and cars.

Together with the construction of berths, coast protection slope type with a total length of 155.7 m will be created, as well as dredging in the bordering zone in volume of 3.7 thousand cubic meters will be conducted. At the same time, a one-storey administrative and household building and a checkpoint will be constructed.

The planned cargo turnover will be 6 000 units of wheeled vehicles per year:
- 4 200 units of cars;
- 1 800 units of trucks.
Passenger turnover – 20 thousand people per year.

It is also assumed that an ice class vessel will provide transportation through the estuary.
