Photo exhibition dedicated to the Maritime and River Fleet Workers Day opens in Sokolniki Park

The photo exhibition "From Depths to Horizons: FSUE “Rosmorport” in focus" was opened on July 1 in Moscow's Sokolniki Park. Timed to the Maritime and River Fleet Workers Day, the exhibition demonstrates the activities of the enterprise, which possess the world's largest fleet of service and support vessels, comprising 280 vessels.

The exhibition includes 20 photographs that shows the main services provided by FSUE "Rosmorport" in 58 of the 62 seaports of the country. The images depict icebreaking assistance, ferry transportation, dredging operations and navigation safety measures.

Visitors will be treated to aerial views of the flagship of the enterprise's fleet – the world's most powerful diesel-electric icebreaker, "Viktor Chernomyrdin", navigating through Arctic ice. They will also learn how icebreakers lead convoys of vessels and what their activities entail during the summer months.

A section of the exhibition is dedicated to the seaport Ust-Luga – seaport of Kaliningrad ferry line, which connects the Kaliningrad Region with mainland Russia. The operation of this ferry route is illustrated through photographs of two environmental friendly combined road-rail ferries operated by FSUE "Rosmorport" – “Marshal Rokossovsky” and “General Chernyakhovsky.”

These ferries are equipped with engines that can run on both low-sulfur fuel and liquefied natural gas, resulting in a 20-30 % reduction in carbon emissions. Additionally, in 2023, the ferries were switched to remote control with autonomous navigation capabilities.

Among other images, a series features the sailing training vessels of FSUE "Rosmorport." Approximately 2,000 cadets from Russian maritime universities undergo practical training aboard these vessels every year.

The exhibition is further enhanced by portraits of the enterprise's sailors and photographs of Russia's easternmost coastal facility, which manages vessel traffic in the waters of the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Seaport and its approaches.

The photo exhibition "From Depths to Horizons: FSUE “Rosmorport” in focus" is located near the Children's Creativity House in Sokolniki Park and will be open until July 14. The exact coordinates are: 55.795078, 37.664370.

The Maritime and River Fleet Workers Day is traditionally celebrated on the first Sunday of the second month of summer. In 2025, it will be on July 6.
