FSUE “Rosmorport” and Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping sign a cooperation agreement to develop technologies and train personnel for the maritime industry

FSUE “Rosmorport” and Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping have signed an updated agreement on cooperation in the field of training and professional development of maritime industry specialists.

The signing ceremony took place on June 20 at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025) on board the Mir frigate moored in the seaport Big Port of St. Petersburg. For and on behalf of FSUE “Rosmorport”, the agreement was signed by General Director Sergey Pylin; for the Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping, the paper was signed by Rector Sergey Baryshnikov.

The parties agreed to continue and expand cooperation in organization training for university students at the enterprise, as well as internships for faculty members. It is planned to conclude agreements on targeted training, which will provide support measures for students and their subsequent employment. One of the aspects of cooperation is the development of educational programs in the field of additional training and professional development.

Within the framework of the agreement it is planned to conduct joint projects with participation of specialists of the enterprise and the university, as well as participation in conferences, seminars, master classes on topical issues of science and education development. On behalf of FSUE “Rosmorport” the agreement provides for targeted financial charitable assistance in the development of material and technical base of the university.

Having completed the signing ceremony, General Director of FSUE “Rosmorport” and Rector of Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping left entries in the Book of Honorary Guests of the sailing ship. As a sign of mutual respect, memorable gifts were given: Sergey Baryshnikov presented Sergey Pylin with a plaque with the university symbols, and FSUE “Rosmorport” in return presented Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping with an exclusive service with the image of the Mir sailing training boat.

The activities of FSUE “Rosmorport” are aimed at ensuring the safety of navigation and increasing the competitiveness of Russian seaports. With the participation of the enterprise, new technologies are being introduced in the maritime industry to ensure uninterrupted navigation, innovative port infrastructure is being formed, and advanced vessels are being built.

The enterprise annually organizes industrial and pre-graduation practice of trainees on specialties: ship navigation, operation of ship power plants, operation of ship electrical and automation equipment.

Traditionally, the practice is organized on sailing training vessels of FSUE “Rosmorport”, as well as on tugboats, small fleet vessels and icebreakers. The most prepared graduates, who have positively proved themselves during the practice, are employed by the enterprise's branches.
