"Mir" sailboat made the first call at the international marine terminal in Pionersky

On May 22 the first call of the “Mir” sailing training vessel to the international sea terminal for reception of cruise and cargo-passenger vessels near Pionersky in the seaport of Kaliningrad took place.

Earlier in May the vessel left the seaport of the Big Port of Saint Petersburg and started the first voyage of the year with cadets of Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping and College of SUMIS on board.

The sailboat entry and mooring to berth No. 1 of the international sea terminal in Pionersky were ensured thanks to the coordinated work of the sailboat's crew, pilots and mooring crew of the Kaliningrad Department of the FSUE “Rosmorport” North-Western Basin Branch.

Andrey Moshkov, Deputy Director of the North-Western Basin Branch - Head of the Kaliningrad Department, met with Leonid Shibaev, Head of the Administration of the Pionersky Urban District, Igor Razinkin, Head of the Pionersky Urban District and Alexander Kalkuta, Head of the Agency for International and Interregional Relations of the Government of the Kaliningrad Region, on board the "Mir" sailboat.

At the meeting they discussed the issues of interaction between the Kaliningrad Department and the administration of the Pionersky Urban District in preparation for the 2025 holiday season, including the organization of charity and cultural events in the district, including those timed to coincide with the Fisherman's Day and the City Day. The participants touched upon the issues of transport accessibility, safety and organization of traffic of vehicles and pedestrians in the conditions of growing cargo and passenger traffic through the marine terminal, as well as preparation for the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the formation of the Kaliningrad region.

A special attention was paid to the topic of future maritime festivals and sailing regattas in Pionersky. With the development of the seaport infrastructure, the city plans to become a center of attraction for such events not only at the regional but also at the federal level.

During the meeting they also discussed the prospects of tourism development, which are connected with the plans to finish the construction of the sea terminal in Pionersky. For residents and guests of the city it is planned to improve the beach adjacent to the Northern breakwater of the terminal, from where a pedestrian promenade zone will be built to connect Pionersky and Svetlogorsk.
