Heads of FSUE "Rosmorport" visits port infrastructure facilities in seaport of Arkhangelsk

During a working visit to Arkhangelsk, the delegation of FSUE "Rosmorport", headed by General Director Sergey Pylin, visited the port infrastructure facilities in the seaport of Arkhangelsk, which are under the jurisdiction of the Arkhangelsk Branch of the enterprise, as well as the Dixon icebreaker, which operates in the White Sea during the current ice navigation season and performs icebreaking operations in the water area of the seaport of Kandalaksha.

The company's management inspected the facilities of the Arkhangelsk Vessel Traffic System (VTS). The VTS meets all modern requirements and operates in order to increase the navigation safety level. Arkhangelsk VTS is used to transfer navigation, meteorological, operational and other information to vessels, to organize, regulate and control vessel traffic, to provide navigation assistance at the request of the vessel's captain or by decision of the Arkhangelsk VTS operator.

The vessel traffic system includes the VTS center and four radio engineering posts: VTS site-1 (Economia), VTS site-2 (Mudyug), VTS site-3 (Talagi) and VTS site-4 (NSC). In December 2023, Arkhangelsk VTS was successfully switched to domestic software.

Another facility visited by the FSUE "Rosmorport" delegation, was the Arkhangelsk section of Navigation Equipment (NE), which performs the functions of repairing and maintaining coastal and floating navigation signs in the water area of the seaport of Arkhangelsk, ensures the receipt of supplies and the maintenance of warehouses, sending supplies to remote units of the Arkhangelsk Branch of the enterprise, the parking pilot and buoy vessels, repair and operation of measuring and traveling boats.

The section includes berthing facilities, turning, carpentry and lighthouse workshops, household and warehouse buildings and structures, off-road machinery, and a tower crane. Pilot and buoy vessels of the Arkhangelsk Branch are also based at the facility.

There are 28 staff units in the organizational structure of the Arkhangelsk section of the NE. The personnel performs installation and maintenance of floating navigation equipment for fencing fairways, water areas, underwater (water intakes) and surface structures of the seaports of Arkhangelsk, Kandalaksha and terminals of the seaport of Onega (Solovki, Belomorsk, Kem). The seaport of Arkhangelsk alone has 156 units of coastal NE and 135 units of floating NE in summer (45 in winter period).

During the working visit, Sergey Pylin also held a meeting with Tsetsen Goryaev, General Director of Arkhangelsk Commercial Sea Port LLC. The parties discussed the results of last year's navigation: according to the results of 2024, the cargo turnover of ASCP LLC more than doubled compared to 2023, amounting to 1 million tons. In addition, issues related to the current loading of the ASCP terminal and work plans for 2025 were discussed.
