General Director of FSUE “Rosmorport” holds a number of meetings on the development of seaports in the Arctic Basin

The delegation of FSUE “Rosmorport”, headed by General Director Sergey Pylin, made a working visit to Murmansk. The head of the enterprise held a number of meetings dedicated to the development of port facilities and activities of FSUE “Rosmorport” in the seaports of the Arctic Basin.

During the visit, Sergey Pylin discussed with Pavel Oleinik, Executive Director of MMTP JSC, the issues of increasing the capacity of the seaports of the Murmansk region and transferring coal transshipment from the center of Murmansk to the western shore of the Kola Bay on the instructions from Russian President Vladimir Putin.

At the meeting with Sergey Didenko, head of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Western Arctic Maritime Ports Administration”, cooperation between organizations in providing pilotage, navigation safety, and transport security was considered. In particular, the equipment of seaports with technical means ensuring transport security in order to provide round-the-clock monitoring of water areas was discussed. After the meeting, the delegation of FSUE “Rosmorport” inspected the facilities of the enterprise located in the seaport of Murmansk.

General Director of FSUE “Rosmorport” also held a meeting with the staff of the Murmansk Branch. The head of the enterprise introduced the new director of the branch, Arnold Kukushkin, to the employees and outlined the main production tasks planned by the end of the year.

At the end of the visit, Sergey Pylin laid flowers at the monument “Sailor” in Severomorsk, which was erected in memory of the heroic local citizens, defenders of the Arctic, who performed a military feat during the Great Patriotic War. The ceremony was timed for The Day of the Founding of the Russian Navy, which is celebrated on October 30.

The seaport of Murmansk is located in the Kola Bay of the Barents Sea. It is the largest polar port in Russia, open for ocean vessels year-round.
