Employees of the branches of FSUE “Rosmorport” took part in The Garden of Memory international campaign. The personnel planted trees and shrubs in memory of those who fell during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

Employees of the Far Eastern Basin Branch planted 10 cedar pines, 10 densely-flowered pines and 5 Korean spruce on the territory adjacent to the administrative building. Specialists of the Sakhalin Branch contributed to the greening the city of Korsakov by planting an alley of 10 lilac trees in Alexander Ivanovich Severov Park.

During the environmental campaign, the North-Eastern Basin Branch planted 36 nine-bark shrubs on the territory of Municipal Budgetary Institution for Supplementary Education “Center for Extracurricular Activities” in the working village of Vanino.

Employees of the North-Western Basin Branch also joined the campaign: the Vyborg-Vysotsk department of the branch planted 4 spruces on the territory of the pilot station in the town of Vysotsk, representatives of the Ust-Luga department planted 8 chestnuts and 3 oaks on the territory of the automobile and railway ferry complex of the branch.

A number of branches are planning to take part in the campaign in the autumn of this year, when weather conditions will be most favorable for planting seedlings.

In particular, the team of the Taman Department of the Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch intends to plant 12 trees in October in the Pushkin City Park in the town of Temryuk installing information plates near each tree with the names of the special military operation participants who died and were buried in 2022-2024.

Earlier, on the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the staff of the Sochi Department of the branch planted an Alley of Memory and Glory on the territory of the seaport of Sochi. For nine years, employees have been taking care of the Pitsunda pines: they cut the grass, add special soil and fertilizers, so that the pines have grown, not a single planted tree has died.

The Memorial Garden is an annual international campaign to plant over 27 million trees in memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War and in support of all defenders of the Motherland defending the honor and dignity of Russia at the present time.

The campaign is held on the initiative of the Autonomous Non-profit Organization for the Development of Environmental, Social and Patriotic Projects “The Memorial Garden”, the All-Russian Public Movement “Volunteers of Victory” and the All-Russian Public Movement “Volunteers of the Forest” with the support of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, as well as the Federal Agency for Forestry.

For the first time, The Memorial Garden campaign was held in 2020 and became the main event of the Year of Memory and Glory. On the instructions of President of the Russian Federation, the campaign has become an annual event, and for 4 years it has united over 4 million people from more than 60 countries by the idea of preserving history and ecology.
