Shtormovoy children's camp takes on board 50 young seafarers of the My Port project

On June 23, 2023, a thematic educational shift named “Sea shift “I want to rise up from a sailor boy” has started in the Shtormovoy children's camp of the Orlyonok Russian Child Center. Traditionally, for eight years now, the 7th shift in Shtormovoy camp has been held with the support of FSUE “Rosmorport”. The shift program implies integration with the My Port children's socially oriented project, aimed at popularization and raising the prestige of maritime professions among the younger generation.

This year 180 schoolchildren will take part in the author's program of maritime orientation, with 50 children and grandchildren of the enterprise central office employees among them. During the project, they will learn the basics of maritime professions and the basics of port business.

The training program is aimed at the patriotic education of the younger generation and the study of the history of the Russian Navy. Once aboard the Shtormovoy vessel, all pupils can try themselves as real seafarers, learn about the outstanding personalities of the Russian fleet and choose the route that is interesting to them. Those children who successfully complete the program of educational courses will have the opportunity to rise up from a sailor boy to a senior sailor in three weeks.

FSUE “Rosmorport” has traditionally prepared branded equipment for the participants of the shift, such as polo shirts and baseball caps with the symbols of the enterprise and the child center. The design uses a jubilee logo - in 2023, FSUE “Rosmorport” celebrates its 20th anniversary.

As a part of the partnership with the Orlyonok Russian Child Center, the enterprise will create a media lab on the territory of Shtormovoy - the children's camp will be donated modern equipment for the functioning of the new class: SLR cameras, lenses, laptops, microphones, studio lights, chromakey, stabilizer, tripod, etc. On the basis of the media laboratory children will learn the art of photography, event photography, creating video content to cover the camp activities and maritime programs during the shift.

At the end of the training at the media course young sailors will demonstrate their own videos about maritime professions at the FSUE “Rosmorport” Day, which is planned to be held at the Shtormovoy children's camp as part of the events dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the enterprise.
