FSUE “Rosmorport” brings the 10th dredger for uninterrupted operation at the Volga-Caspian Sea Shipping Canal

Ten dredgers are performing dredging work at the Volga-Caspian Sea Shipping Canal (VCSSC). Next week the grouping of fleet working at the VCSSC is expected to be increased by two more vessels up to twelve dredgers.

Currently, the grouping of fleet operated by FSUE “Rosmorport” includes six vessels of the enterprise – Pyotr Sablin, Artemiy Volynsky, Ivan Cheremisinov, Kronshlot, Severno-Zapadny-503 and Urengoy – and four vessels involved by the enterprise: Arkady Kardakov, Professor Lukin, Moguchyi and Donskoy-701.

In addition to dredgers, twenty-three vessels of the service and auxiliary fleet are involved in the work at the canal: scows (7 units), tugs (7 units), boatage motor boats (6 units), survey boats (3 units).

Work at the strategically important facility is carried out around the clock under favorable weather conditions. In order to fulfill the task set by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on ensuring the passage of vessels with a draft of at least 4.5 m along the VCSSC by the end of 2023, FSUE “Rosmorport” provides the fleet involved in the development of the VCSSC with all the necessary related materials and equipment for its smooth operation.
