The Onego Shipyard hosted a ceremony to launch the construction of deep modernization facilities

On January 27, 2022, a ceremony was held at the Onego Shipyard in Petrozavodsk dedicated to the start of construction of facilities for the enterprise deep modernization.

Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev, Head of the Republic of Karelia Artur Parfenchikov and Director of JSC "Onego Shipyard" Vladimir Mayzus laid a commemorative capsule inside of which a digital 3D model of the plant after its modernization was placed on an electronic medium.

Member of the Board of the Military-Industrial Commission of the Russian Federation Vladimir Pospelov, Deputy Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation Irina Okladnikova, Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Telecommunications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation Maxim Parshin, Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport Zakhary Dzhioev, General Director of FSUE "Rosmorport" Alexander Smirnov, Rector of St. Petersburg State Marine Technical University Gleb Turichin, General Director of JSC "Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Technology Center" Mikhail Alexandrov, heads of legislative and executive powers of the Republic of Karelia also took part in the solemn ceremony.

The deep modernization project of JSC "Onego Shipyard" involves the introduction of digital support for the construction of vessels, robotization and automation of production processes. The project also provides for an increase in labor productivity by at least 2 times and the number of vessels built from 3 to 10 annually. As part of the project, it is planned to build new facilities (block of building workshops, checkpoint, data processing center, gasification station, treatment facilities) and reconstruct the existing slipway. In terms of digitalization of the plant, an integrated digital production information system will be introduced, which should provide digital management of the enterprise as a whole and the effective operation of its main production capacities using modern management and information technologies adapted for shipbuilding.

The project is developed by St. Petersburg State Marine Technical University and JSC "Shipbuilding and Shiprepair Technology Center". Design works were financed by FSUE “Rosmorport”.

In June 2021, the project successfully passed the state expertise. By Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 1912 dated November 3, 2021, investments were allocated from the federal budget for its implementation in the amount of more than 5 billion rubles during 2021-2024.

The general contractor for construction and installation work on the modernization facilities is the public-law company “Military Construction Company”, with which a contract has already been concluded for construction and installation work.
