General contractor completed the construction works of a ferry and passenger complex planned for 2020 in the village of Ugolnye Kopi by order of FSUE «Rosmorport» (KPMI)

By order of the FSUE «Rosmorport» the FSBI «Morspassluzhba» continues construction of a ferry and passenger berth in the village of Ugolnye Kopi (Chukotka). The project is a part of the federal project «Seaports of Russia» of the Comprehensive Plan for the Modernization and Expansion of Trunk Infrastructure until 2024. At the moment, «Morspassluzhba» has completed all the works planned for this year.

Let us recall that the general contractor began construction work on the facility in 2020. Construction control was carried out by representatives of the Anadyr branch of the FSUE «Rosmorport» as well as by specialists of a specialized organization.

In September-November the sheet piling (WTSP) of the front wall and anchor piles of the anchor row was loaded, and an anchor system was arranged to secure the erected structures.

Builders submerged and reinforced 57 WTSP and 20 anchor piles of berth No. 1 and berth No. 2 of the ferry and passenger complex. To protect the sheet piling wall, additional piles are submerged which ensure its safety when the ice bursts in winter.

Next year it is planned to complete hydrotechnical works on the formation of berths and coast protection, to build coastal buildings and structures as well as to carry out territory accomplishment.

The project is planned to be implemented by the end of October 2021.

Construction of the sea pier is included in the state program "Transport System Development". The facility will provide safe sea transportation across the Anadyr firth on the route Anadyr - settlement of Ugolnye Kopi, where the international airport Anadyr (Ugolnyi) is located. Currently, during the navigation period passengers and vehicles are transported between Anadyr and the village of Ugolnye Kopi by passenger boats, barges and hovercrafts, as well as helicopters. However, the left bank of the Anadyr estuary is not fully equipped for loading and unloading people and cars.

Together with the construction of berths coast protection slope type with a total length of 155.7 m will be created, as well as dredging in the bordering zone in volume of 3.7 thousand cubic meters. At the same time, a one-store administrative and household building and a checkpoint will be constructed.

The planned cargo turnover will amount to 6,000 wheeled vehicles per year:
- 4,200 passenger cars;
- 1,800 trucks.
Passenger turnover – 20 thousand people per year.

It is also assumed that transportation along the firth will be performed by an ice class vessel.
