On 26 October 2015 General Director of FSUE “Rosmorport” Andrey Tarasenko attended a meeting with representatives from administration of the Kaliningrad Region and district of Pionersk dedicated to issues of design and construction of the international marine terminal that will accept cruise and passenger ships. 

Representatives from Federal fishery agencies, FSUE “Naprybresource”, FSBI “Administration of the Baltic seaports”, FSOE “Rosgranstroy” and others also participated in the meeting.

The project in Pionersky goes under federal target program “Development of the Russian transport system for 2010 – 2020” and includes construction of a terminal to accept cruise and passenger ships in the Kaliningrad Region.

Participation of FSUE “Rosmorport” will be expressed in construction of berthing facilities, shore protection and dredging. At the moment, implementation of the project has already begun with geological survey for further dredging.

As it was emphasized at the meeting, once the project is carried out, water tourism will be brought up to a new level and transport accessibility of the region will be improved.

Andrey Tarasenko also met representatives from the local Fishery collectives union and ship-owners that perform their activities in Pionersky. Discussion covered issues on cooperation while construction of the terminal in the town is in progress.
