FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director Andrey Tarasenko Visits Kaliningrad Seaport

On 14 October 2015 FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director Andrey Tarasenko during his visit to Kaliningrad met representatives of the Government of Kaliningrad Region and Pionersky City Administration to discuss issues of design and construction of a cruise and cargo-and-passenger terminal.

The Pionersky project is included into the federal target program “Development of the Transport System of Russia in 2010-2020” and involves construction of a terminal for cruise and cargo-and-passenger ships in Kaliningrad Region.

The estimated passenger flow of the terminal is 250 thousand people per year. Implementation of the project will contribute to the development of touristic infrastructure, as it will enable reception of tourists in the region.

FSUE “Rosmorport” is to participate in construction of berthing structures, a coastal protection structure and dredging. In order to support the safety of navigation, the enterprise will set a vessel traffic system (VTS) and install aids to navigation.

Besides, in the framework of the business trip Andrey Tarasenko met Commander-In-Chief of the Baltic Fleet Viktor Kravchuk. They discussed cooperation of FSUE “Rosmorport” vessel traffic services with the navy base operational subdivisions in order to draw up an information exchange procedure to increase the safety of navigation in the waters of Kaliningrad Seaport.

On the same day the General Director also inspected the progress of repairing the Tor icebreaker of FSUE “Rosmorport”. After the sea trials are completed, this October the ship will go to Sabetta Seaport to perform ice escorts.
