General Director of FSUE “Rosmorport” Andrey Tarasenko on 13 June 2015 took part in the solemn events in the framework of the VII Marine Youth Festival “Morfest – 2015” in Arkhangelsk. This year the festival marks the 70^th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The Mir sailing training ship of FSUE “Rosmorport” performed an honorary mission at the festival. Everyone could go on board the sailing ship to have a look at the captain and the crew. At present more than 120 trainees of the State Marine and River Fleet University named after Admiral S.O. Makarov undergo sailing training on board of the Mir.

Apart from the festival itself, the Mir was also a participant of the memorial expedition commemorated to the wartime deed of the Polar Convoys.

The festival also involved a range of cultural and patriotic activities. On 13 June General Director of FSUE “Rosmorport” Andrey Tarasenko together with Acting Governor of Arkhangelsk Region Igor Orlov and Rector of the State Marine and River Fleet University named after Admiral S.O. Makarov Sergey Baryshnikov met a distinguished guest – Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill on board of the sailing ship. The Patriarch conducted an opening ceremony of an auditorium named after holy dignitary Ioann of Kronshtadt.
