Mir Moors at Her Home Shores

On 28 September 2015 festive events to meet Mir training sailing ship took place in Saint-Petersburg.

At noon the sailing ship moored at Lieutenant Schmidt embankment followed by sounds of an orchestra. On shore the vessel was welcomed by head of Administration of the Baltic Seaports Petr Parinov and executive secretary of Marine Board under Government of Saint-Petersburg Tatyana Chekalina, chancellor of Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping Sergey Baryshnikov, and administration of the FSUE “Rosmorport” North-Western Basin Branch.

Mir sailing ship of FSUE “Rosmorport” North-Western Basin Branch has come to the port after a half-year voyage, during which cadets of Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping were passing their training that appeared to be productive and fruitful. On their trip the cadets have seen biggest seaports of Europe, including Hamburg (Germany), Larvik (Norway), Aalborg (Denmark), Amsterdam (the Netherlands) and Bremerhaven (Germany). The sailing ship has navigated along the route of the fabulous Polar convoy and participated in regattas.
