FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director Andrey Tarasenko Makes Visit to Big Port of Saint-Petersburg

FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director Andrey Tarasenko during his business trip to Saint-Petersburg on 18 August 2015 inspected the port infrastructure facilities of the Bronka marine transshipment complex, where the enterprise is conducting dredging. The project is aimed to reconstruct the Saint-Petersburg Sea Canal, and ensure navigation safety, as well as easy access of ships to Bronka.

Being implemented on the southern coast of the Gulf of Finland, the project will allow to stimulate the development of international trade market, and subsequently reorient transshipment of Russian high paying freight from the Finnish and Baltic ports to Russian seaports.

Also during the trip General Director conducted a number of meetings with representatives of contracting organizations involved in the project for the construction of a berthing complex for mooring and servicing icebreaking fleet in the Big Port of Saint-Petersburg.

The project stipulates construction of two berths, where FSUE “Rosmorport” is going to arrange an icebreaking fleet base, with the possibility to fit 12 icebreakers, up to 11.0 metres in draught, at a time.

In the end of his visit Andrey Tarasenko met the employees of the North-Western Basin Branch to discuss current operational issues and future development.
