Delegation from FSUE “Rosmorport” have participated in events in Astrakhan dedicated to celebration of the Caspian Day, which are hold every year on 12 August – the day when framework convention on marine environment protection came in force.

Caspian region has now become one of the most attractive regions for investments, an object of regard of public organizations, academic and scientific circles, and for several countries – area of strategic interests.

Caspian Day is held under patronage of International Fund of Ecology “Chistye moray” (“Clean Seas”). Every year scientists, politicians and businessmen from Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenia meet to work together to solve issues of maintenance of clean water environment and bioresources of the Caspian Sea.

The event will included business, ecological, educational and cultural klasters and innovations fair, which will take place on 12 – 13 August.

FSUE “Rosmorport” pays a great deal of attention to ecological safety issues. The enterprise possesses rich practical experience in hazardous wastes handling, performs activities on collection of wastes from vessels in seaports. For this purpose it uses special fleet consisting of 18 oil garbage disposal vessels, 8 bilge water removing ship, recycling stations and on-shore facility for wastes collection from vessels and their disposal along with other wastes disposal equipment. Strategic plans of the enterprise include expansion of area of the ecological services and construction of 12 modern vessels for the ecological fleet. 

Pollution of the source of life – water – is reaching disastrous dimensions. Seas and rivers are exposed to significant man-caused impact. The ability of the Global Ocean to cleanse itself is limited. That is why it is important for all of us to preserve this resource for our future generations.
