FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director Andrey Tarasenko Visits Kaliningrad

FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director Andrey Tarasenko held a meeting with the Head of FSI "Kaliningrad Seaport Administration" Aleksandre Shevtsov and acting master of Kaliningrad Sea Port Valery Bodrov during the business trip to Kaliningrad on 24 and 25 July 2015. At the meeting issues on assignment to the enterprise of engineering and technical assets insuring transport safety were discussed. Other topic was dredging conditioned by navigational depths maintenance in the Kaliningrad canal.

Also on 25 July a meeting with the Head of Pionersky town administration Vitaly Belyaev and the Head of the Kaliningrad Region was held. Design and construction of marine terminal in Pionersky town of the Kaliningrad Region were discussed. The project is a part of the federal target program “Transport system of Russia Development in 2010 – 2020” and includes construction of a terminal to receive cruise and cargo-passenger vessel in the Kaliningrad Region.

“The advantage of the terminal is its location – at the crossroad of the main transport routes of the south-eastern Baltic coast. At the terminal services for cruise vessels and cargo-passenger ferries will be provided. Passenger turnover will be up to 400 thousand people. Implementation of the project will contribute to the tourist infrastructure of the region, and also will enable reception of tourists during FIFA World Cup 2018,” pointed out FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director Andrey Tarasenko.

FSUE “Rosmorport” is expected to participate in the construction of berths, coast-protection structure, and dredging. In order to provide navigation safety the enterprise is also going to create VTS facilities and install necessary aids to navigation.

In 2014 in the framework of the “Transport Week – 2014” business program FSUE “Rosmorport” and Government of the Kaliningrad Region made an agreement on cooperation in designing the facilities covered by the construction project. Under the agreement both parties perform drafting and coordination of the project documentation, as well as getting conclusions of the state expertise for their facilities.
