Mir Sailing Ship Takes Part in International Sailing Race “The Tall Ships Races 2015” in Norway

Training sailer Mir moored in Aalesund (Norway) on 15 July 2015 to take part in one of the races of «The Tall Ships Races 2015» prestigious regatta.

International sailing races have been held on regular basis since 1956 and always attract a great deal of audience. 

“The races route changes from a race to race, and it is quite difficult to foresee what the next trip will be like. In the same time the participants are given rare opportunity to challenge their endurance, испытать свою выносливость, strength of mind and get hand in sailing. In the races, which start off on 18 July from Aalesund, 56 sailing ships from more than 30 countries are going to participate. Mir sailing ship’s honors will be defended by 137 cadets of Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping.

Mir will be staying at Aalesund for three days. During its mooring an “open on-board pass” and sightseeing tours will be organized. On 18 July, when the race starts, the ship carrying the race participants will set off for Kristiansand Norway port.

Then the sailer will take part in the next race that starts off on 24 July from Kristiansand Norway port.
