General Director of FSUE "Rosmorport" Andrey Tarasenko participated in a meeting of the Marine Board under the Government of the Russian Federation which took place on 2 July 2015 in Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping.
 
Outlooks and issues of domestic marine engineering development under the context of the sanctions, and possible measures to reduce their impact were discussed.
 
Nowadays, high percentage of equipment of our own country has a significant amount of imported parts, which are not produced in the Russian Federation. This results in direct relation between costs spent for a construction of a vessel and exchange rate movements, and different types of sanctions as well. That is why, already today construction of vessels focuses on equipment offered on the Russian market.
 
Marine transport has always played a great role in our country, and reorientation to the home producer is supported by Government of Russia. For example, under its support a decision about reopening of Onezhsky shipyard and its assignment to FSUE "Rosmorport" was made in the end of 2014.

With the sanctions prolonged, this decision has a great strategic significant for the whole industry, and participant of the Marine Board meeting paid special attention to the fact that it is domestic production development that will weaken negative effect of the imposed sanctions.
