On 3 – 4 March the first Russian-Qatar intergovernmental commission for trade, economic and technical cooperation took place in Doha city (State of Qatar).

On the part of Qatar there were representatives of Ministry of Energy and Industry and the Qatar business community. On the Russian delegation there were representatives of Minenergo of Russia, MEDT of Russia, Minpromtorg and Mintrans of Russia.

During the meeting issues on common approaches to development of economic cooperation between the countries, of investment constituent, of collaborative projects in energy, agricultural, industrial spheres were discussed. The FSUE “Rosmorport” representatives made presentation of investment projects in seaport infrastructure development.

The parties emphasized great potential of development of their cooperation in the sphere of liquefied natural gas turnover, realization of projects on electric power and atomic engineering. The Qatar party expressed its readiness to cooperate in the sphere of civil aviation and also during tenders for transport infrastructure construction on Qatar territory.

Increase in turnover of goods and further cooperation in other activities will be discussed during the second session scheduled to be hold in Moscow in 2016.
