FSUE “Rosmorport” Takes Part in the 12th Economic Forum in Krasnoyarsk

XII Economic Forum took place in Krasnoyarsk on 26 – 28 February. The event was devoted to issues of economic integration of Russia with the Pacific Rim.

The last 10 years saw sustainable growth of turnover of goods between Asian countries and the other world. This fact makes transit potential of Russia highly competitive and will allow to redistribute flows of goods and passengers in the eastern hemisphere.

What are strategic basis of the Russian-Asian partnership in the sphere of transport for the next 15 – 20 years and how to increase transport connection efficiency between Russia and Asian countries? These questions were raised during section “Transport Infrastructure Development” attended by participants from ministries and departments of Russia and transport sphere of Asian countries.

Representatives of Rosmorrechflot and FSUE “Rosmorport” reported on the current situation and development prospects of seaports of Russia and Far East.

During discussion issues on import substitution of processing and handling equipment in stevedoring services provision, fund raising tools (including foreign funds) to develop seaports infrastructure in conditions of existing economic and geopolitical situations were discussed. Also the participants touched issue on realization of the second stage of Eastern railway net ground development and its influence on seaports capacities increase in Primorye and Khabarovsk Territory.

Summing the meeting up, the participants pointed out sustainable growth trend of seaports capacities. Thus, during 2009 to 2014 turnover of goods in the seaports of Far-Eastern basin increased from 92.2 mln tons to 162.5 mln tons.

Russian representatives expressed confidence in the Eastern ground and the whole set of other transport projects in Siberia and in the Far East becoming long-term growth factor for Russian economics.
