Construction of the Lomonosovskaya electrical substation is a key element in formation of the power supply network infrastructure in the Leningrad region and the suburbs of St. Petersburg in order to ensure a reliable power supply to the consumers of the region, primarily the port facilities of the Bronka multifunctional sea transshipment complex being under construction in the Lomonosov district of the Leningrad region.

The project of construction of the Bronka multifunctional sea transshipment complex has a strategic impact for the development of the transport infrastructure of the North-West region of Russia and reduce the traffic congestion in St. Petersburg. In this regard, the construction of the approach canal and the operating waters of the complex is being performed at the expense of the federal budget investments and has been included in the list of major investment projects of the federal target program “Development of transport system of Russia (2010-2020)”. Implementation of the program activities for the construction of the relevant underwater hydraulic structures in the waters of the Bronka multifunctional sea transshipment complex is performed by FSUE “Rosmorport”. Completion of the first phase of dredging works in the waters of the complex is scheduled for late 2015.

Detailed information on the progress of the construction of the approach canal and the operating waters of the Bronka multifunctional sea transshipment complex can be found in the section “Development of Port Infrastructure of the North-West Basin Branch”.
