President of Russia Visits Black Sea Tall Ships Regatta in Sochi

On 15 May 2014 President of Russia Vladimir Putin awarded the winners of the first race of the international Black Sea Tall Ships Regatta. The President of Russia presented the awards to the teams of Nadezhda sailing ship (Vladivostok) and Akela yacht. He also visited Russian training sailing ship Mir.

Presidential adviser Igor Levitin, Minister of Transport of Russia Maxim Sokolov and Governor of Krasnodar Area Alexander Tkachev also took part in the awards ceremony.

Teams of the regatta solemnly marched across the streets of Sochi.

The Mir training ship as well as the three other Russian sailing ships – Nadezhda, Kruzenshtern and Sedov moored at berths No. 1 and No. 2 in the New Cruise Harbor of Sochi Seaport, which had been built by FSUE “Rosmorport” by the beginning of the winter games in Sochi in the framework of the project on creation of the international marine passenger and cruise terminal.

The pilots of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Sochi Branch provided professional pilotage for the biggest sailing ships in order to ensure their safe entrance and mooring at the seaport.
