Dikson, a FSUE "Rosmorport" Arkhangelsk branch icebreaker, is taking part in a search and rescue operation in the White Sea, where Kapitan Kuznetsov bulk carrier went missing the day before. The carrier left the port of Arkahngelsk in the evening, on 15th of November 2011.

According to the information provided by Dikson icebreaker`s captain, the Kapitan Kuznetsov bulk carrier was noticed from a plane during the rescue operation in a point 67°14'N  42°58'E. The carrier is heading to the seaport of Arkhangelsk accompanied by the FSUE "Rosmorport" icebreaker Dikson at the moment. The evacuation of the crew from the vessel by helicopter turned out to be unnecessary. All people aboard are alive.

The Kapitan Kuznetsov bulk carrier was heading to the seaport of Arkhangelsk in ballast and failed to go on the air for a radio contact in the night from 14th to 15th of November 2011. Afterwards, an emergency buoys operation was detected. 11 people are aboard the vessel.
