Marine passenger communication alongside the Black Sea has started in Sochi

Sochi-1 and Sochi-2 rapid catamarans have set to the demonstration ride from the seaport of Sochi. The owner of the catamarans is FSUE “Rosmorport”.

First regular catamaran trip from Tuapse to Sochi took its place on the 2nd of June. Since the 3rd of June the catamarans will set on planned routes and will run along the Black Sea cost between Russian and Abkhazian seaports.

The project major aim is to revive passenger communication along the Black Sea coastline, which is an important step towards the making of contemporary marine transport infrastructure of the Sochi resort in advance of the Olympics 2014.

FSUE “Rosmorport” takes all necessary measures to provide moderate trip prices. This will have positive impact on the tourist inflow to the Black Sea resorts.

The catamarans are 40 meters long, 10 meters wide and can hold 300 passengers at the speed up to 32 knots (60 km/h approx.)
