On July, 27th, 2010 Bareboat charter contract for “Baltiysk” ferry was signed by FSUE “Rosmorport” and ANSHIP LLC shipping company.

According to the contract terms, “Baltiysk” ferry was transferred for operational management to ANSHIP LLC shipping company till the end of 2010 with the right of further prolongation for the use of the ferry in sea shipping lane between the seaport of Ust-Luga and railway ferry terminal in Baltyisk (the seaport of Kaliningrad).

With the use of “Baltyisk” ferry transportation of RORO cargoes, first of all cargoes in railcars, is carried out. The transportation of such cargoes to and from Kaliningrad region by railway-ferry through traffic not only decreases transportation costs but also eliminates the necessity of time-taking customs formalities during crossing the territories of Lithuania and Belarus.

Ferry transfer to ANSHIP LLC shipping company will maintain the stability of sea transportation service between Kaliningrad region and the rest of the territory of the Russian Federation and will improve the economic indicators of the shipping lane.
