On April, 23rd, 2010 the FSUE “Rosmorport” Kaliningrad branch organized the community work day on clearing of protective dikes of the Kaliningrad sea channel from garbage. The dikes assigned to the branch are known as “green islands” among locals. The given action is held annually within the limits of spring beautification month with participation of representatives of the FSUE "Rosmorport" Kaliningrad branch, public authorities and commercial organizations carrying out their activity in the water area of the Kaliningrad sea channel.

This year the branch invitation to take part in the community work day was accepted by Ecological Control and Supervision Service of the Government of Kaliningrad region, Sea Supervision Department of Federal Service for Nature Management Supervision, FSE “Balttechmordirektsiya, department of water resources for Kaliningrad region, OAO "Gidrostroy" — about 50 persons in total.

During the community work day about 15 cubic meters of garbage were collected and taken out from the dikes. The FSUE “Rosmorport” Kaliningrad branch is grateful to all participants, thanks to their help «green islands» can breath easier now.
