Stetyukhas labor dynasty

Stetyukha Anatoly Nikolayevich is chief specialist of the department for navigational and hydrographic support of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch Taman Directorate.

In 1969 Anatoly Nikolayevich graduated from the Frunze Higher Naval School with the specialty of hydrography. He served at hydrographic units of the Black Sea Fleet as a hydrographic engineer and took part in many hydrographic expeditions, including in the Antarctic, tests of new types of warships and research vessels, and submarines.

He participated in the demarcation of the state border on the rivers of Prut, Tisa and Danube. By the end of the service fate threw him to the Taman Peninsula.

From 2000 after his resignation Stetyukha became head of the section for aids to navigation and hydrography of the Maritime Administration of the seaports of Temryuk and Kavkaz.

From 2004 he works as chief specialist of the department for navigational and hydrographic support of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch Taman Directorate.

 

Stetyukha Dmitry Anatolyevich (son) is chief of the department for navigation and hydraulic support of the Taman Directorate of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch.

In 1993 he successfully finished the Black Sea Higher Naval School named after P.S. Nakhimov. Dmitry, raised on the worthy example of his father, decided to follow in his footsteps. He served on warships of the Russian Navy and its hydrographic service where he acquired invaluable professional experience.

 

The Stetyukhas, the father and the son, take on the major task to provide the navigation and hydrographic component for the common system of navigation safety. They build and install aids to navigation for positioning vessels during their movement on water areas of seaports and the approaches toward them, make depth sounding in seaports’ water areas for timely dredging and keeping within established parameters, eliminate the remaining mine danger in areas and water areas where unexploded munitions of the Great Patriotic War might be left.  

Due to the concerted effort and high professionalism of Anatoly Nikolayevich and Dmitry Anatolyevich the priority task was carried out to create and develop the navigation system in the Kerch Strait. The work was done to create and develop the Azovo-Chernomorsky navigation canal.
