Participants of the My Port project completed their training at the Enjoy Camp

On August 20, 63 winners of a competitive selection held on the basis of the My Port educational project returned from the Enjoy Camp in the Moscow region. For two weeks, the children and grandchildren of FSUE “Rosmorport” employees took part in the program "Shipbuilding. Chosen by the Sea" and learned about the structure of vessels and maritime science in an engaging way.

The training consisted of two blocks. In the first one children learned how and from what materials vessels are built, what is the difference between an icebreaker and a liner, and in the final stage, they created their own vessel models and tested them on the water. The classes were conducted in English under the guidance of native speakers.

In the second part, children learned the basics of navigation and sea rescue, as well as how to tie nautical knots. Considerable time was also devoted to choosing a career in the maritime sector.

Representatives of FSUE "Rosmorport"—Assistant to General Director Vladimir Shtrambrand and Fleet Operations Project Manager Sergey Dadyka—explained how to find one's calling at sea by becoming a first-class navigator, or on shore by designing vessels and developing port infrastructure.

On the final day, a big celebration was held, where children showed what they had learned in their specialized classes. Sergey Bazarniy, Deputy General Director of FSUE "Rosmorport", congratulated them on the successful completion of the camp session and their first step toward a career at sea.

As a memento of the two-week shipbuilding course, the students received gifts from the company and the Enjoy Camp: branded caps, T-shirts, bags, stationery, and colorful notebooks with information about Russian universities that train maritime specialists.

"I really enjoyed the shipbuilding classes, especially the fact that I made my own model vessel, which passed the tests. Now I'm going to watch lots of videos about the sea and sailors. I think working on a vessel is very interesting and won't be boring. I would like to return to the camp next year", said 14-year-old Mikhail from Moscow, sharing his impressions of the camp.

Another 23 winners of the FSUE "Rosmorport" competition went to the Russian Children's Center Ocean in Primorye Region this year. Until August 27, they will be participating in the "Ocean Shipbuilders: Pioneers" program in the "Okeanskaya eskadra" team and "Game Master" in the "Tigrenok" team.

The children will learn to sail, study the basics of shipbuilding and maritime affairs, learn about the history of navigation, and visit natural attractions.
