FSUE “Rosmorport” participates in a meeting on the launch of a new cruise route in the Far East

FSUE “Rosmorport” took part in a meeting on the development of maritime cruise tourism in the Far East, which was held on August 17 chaired by Vladimir Solodov, Governor of the Kamchatka Region, and Oleg Kozhemyako, Governor of the Primorye Region.

The enterprise was represented at the meeting by Evgeny Berkov, Advisor to the General Director, Vladimir Kozlov, Director of the Petropavlovsk Branch, and Maksim Tepliuk, Deputy Director for Operations of the Petropavlovsk Branch. The event was also attended by the ministers of tourism of the Primorye Region, Kamchatka Region, and Sakhalin Region, as well as representatives of federal and regional agencies responsible for the operation and development of cruise tourism infrastructure.

The main topic of the meeting was the preparation of regions for the launch of a new cruise route. A comfortable ocean liner is planned to connect the capitals of three Far Eastern regions of Russia: Vladivostok, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, starting in May 2026. The project is being implemented by FSUE “Rosmorport” and JSC “KS-Strateguicheskiy Alliance”. The operator will be JSC “Russkaya Kruiznaya Kompaniya”, which will soon be registered in the Kuril Islands. The agreement on its creation was signed in 2025 at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

At the meeting, project participants presented up-to-date information on the progress of the initiative, and discussed the progress of negotiations for the acquisition of a vessel for Far Eastern cruise lines and issues related to project financing. It is planned that the line will be served by a modern cruise ship that meets all safety and comfort standards. Taking into account the projected demand, several ships with a capacity of 1,000-1,300 passengers are currently being considered.

It was also noted that the regions were preparing infrastructure to receive the liner and cruise tourists, including the construction of temporary pontoon berths for disembarking passengers on the islands of the Kuril Ridge.

The ministers of tourism of the Primorye Region, the Kamchatka Region and the Sakhalin Region presented their vision for the development of the cruise project, taking into account existing and prospective regional and interregional tourism development programs.

A special session dedicated to the development of cruise tourism in the Far East was announced separately. It will be held during the 10th Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok from September 3 to 6.
