FSUE “Rosmorport” participates in the meeting of the Board of Rosmorrechflot ahead of the Maritime and River Fleet Workers Day

On July 4, Sergey Pylin, General Director of FSUE “Rosmorport”, presented a report at a joint meeting of the Board of the Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport and the Public Council under Rosmorrechflot. During the meeting, Boris Gadjiev, the captain of the ferry Marshal Rokossovsky, got a merit award from the Ministry of Transport of Russia.

The event was chaired by Andrey Tarasenko, head of Rosmorrechflot. Alexander Poshivai, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, and Viktor Deryabkin, a deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, also participated in the meeting.

Andrey Tarasenko congratulated those present on the upcoming Maritime and River Fleet Workers Day, highlighting the increasing role of water transport in the national development.

In his address, Alexander Poshivai reminded attendees that the main tasks of the industry had been outlined in the national project “Efficient Transport System”, developed at the instruction of President of Russia.

Increasing automaticity in water transport is one of the priorities. As part of the federal project “Autonomous Navigation”, dual-fuel ferries Marshal Rokossovsky and General Chernyakhovsky, operated by FSUE “Rosmorport”, are successfully operating remotely on the line connecting the Leningrad and Kaliningrad regions, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation emphasized.

In his report, Sergey Pylin discussed the work being conducted by the enterprise on the Volga-Caspian Sea Shipping Canal.

Beginning in 2023, at the instruction of President of Russia, FSUE “Rosmorport” has been ensuring a canal draught of 4.5 meters. During this period, record volumes of dredging have been achieved. In 2023, 10 million cubic meters of soil were extracted; in 2024, it was 6 million cubic meters; and in 2025, 7 million cubic meters are planned.

“The work is being carried out by our own fleet as well as dredging vessels from third-party organizations. Last year, our dredging fleet was joined by the non-self-propelled cutter dredger Nikolay Rusanov. In 2025, two more similar dredgers and three vessels for their support are expected to be delivered,” Sergey Pylin reported.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister of Transport of Russia Alexander Poshivai congratulated maritime, river, and port workers on their professional holiday and presented awards to the best industry professionals. Among them was Boris Gadjiev, captain of the ferry Marshal Rokossovsky, who was honored with the Peter Gubonin medal.

Boris Gadjiev has been working at the FSUE “Rosmorport” North-Western Basin Branch since August 2017. During this period, he has shown himself to be a diligent and responsible specialist, a demanding and proactive leader, and a skilled navigator. In March 2022, he became the captain of the ferry Marshal Rokossovsky, one of the advanced vessels operating on the Seaport of Ust-Luga – Seaport of Kaliningrad line.

As the captain of the ferry, Boris Gadzhiev demonstrates excellent organizational qualities, displays a high level of professional knowledge, and continually enhances the skills necessary for the successful management of a modern vessel.

Furthermore, at the meeting of the Board, Sergey Pylin, General Director of FSUE “Rosmorport”, was awarded a letter of gratitude from the head of the Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport for his active participation in public events commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Soviet people's victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945.

Yuri Mikhailov, Chairman of the Council of Veterans of the Maritime and River Fleet, concluded the celebrations for the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War by expressing gratitude to FSUE “Rosmorport” for organizing a high-level patriotic event for veterans of the water transport industry at the Moryak recreation center in the Moscow region.

After the meeting, its participants laid flowers at the Eternal Flame at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, honoring the memory of the sailors and river workers who valiantly fought on the frontlines of the Great Patriotic War and made significant contributions to the victory and the post-war restoration of the industry and the country.
