Start of dredging works on the Azov-Don Sea Canal

FSUE “Rosmorport” has begun repair dredging works on the Azov-Don Sea Canal. The dredging is being carried out as part of the project for performing maintenance dredging work on the Azov-Don Sea Canal for the period of 2020–2030.

Currently, the work is being performed both by FSUE “Rosmorport”'s own dredging equipment – a dredging convoy based on the multi-bucket dredger Kuban-2 – and by a contracted dredging convoy based on the multi-bucket dredger “Donskoy-405”.

For 2025, a total of 380,000 cubic meters of bottom soil is planned to be extracted on the Azov-Don Sea Canal and transported to disposal areas. Of this volume, 230,000 cubic meters of soil will be removed using own dredging equipment of the FSUE "Rosmorport", while another 150,000 cubic meters will be extracted using equipment from a contracting organization.

In May 2025, repair dredging work was completed in the water area of floating berth No. 9 at the seaport of Taganrog. Approximately 30,000 cubic meters of soil were removed. The required navigational depth has been ensured for the installation of floating berth No. 9 and the reception of passenger vessels with a draft of up to 3.1 meters.

Currently, as part of the project for performing repair dredging works to restore design dimensions on the Taganrog Approach Channel and approaches to hydraulic structures of the seaport of Taganrog for the period 2018–2028, dredging work that began in March 2025 continues on the Taganrog Approach Channel. The work is being carried out both by the own dredging equipment of the FSUE “Rosmorport” –the multi-bucket dredgers Dnestr and Severnaya, as well as the hopper barges Taganskaya, Deltovaya-10, Deltovaya-11, Trudovaya, and Morskaya – and with the involvement of a contracted dredging train based on the dredger Kamsky-601.
