FSUE "Rosmorport" sums up the results of its activities for 2024 and defines further plans for the future

On April 10, FSUE "Rosmorport" summarized the results of its activities for 2024 and identified key tasks and activities for the current year and the medium term perspective up to 2027. The meeting of the management of the enterprise and branches was held in the format of a conference in Moscow. The event was attended by Andrey Tarasenko, Head of the Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport, Sergey Pylin, General Director of FSUE "Rosmorport", Igor Shevchuk, Executive Director of FSUE "Rosmorport", deputy heads of the enterprise, as well as the management of the branches.

Andrey Tarasenko, Head of Rosmorrechflot, addressed the participants of the meeting with a welcoming speech. The head of the agency reviewed the current situation in the country's water transport industry, drawing attention to the importance of ensuring sustainable river-sea connectivity and creating multimodal logistics centers to strengthen the country's transport potential.

At the end of March 2025, the Lavna terminal was opened on the western shore of the Kola Bay in the Murmansk region. Thanks to Lavna, the Murmansk transportation hub will become one of the leading logistics hubs in Russia and will also contribute to the development and cargo flow of the Great Northern Sea Route.

As Andrey Tarasenko emphasized, commissioning of new ports, increase of throughput capacity in the existing ones and modernization of port infrastructure are a necessary step for the progressive development of our industry and the economy as a whole.

The Development strategy for FSUE "Rosmorport", reviewed by Rosmorrechflot, states that the most important priority for the company in the long term is to improve its financial stability and develop active commercial activities, including the development of the stevedoring services market.

In the final part of his speech, Andrey Tarasenko congratulated the employees of the enterprise on the successful completion of the year 2024, emphasizing the awards received within the framework of the "Industry Leader" award, and thanked the staff of FSUE "Rosmorport" for their work.

In continuation of the meeting there was a solemn ceremony of awarding the branches of FSUE "Rosmorport", which showed the highest results of the last year, as well as awarding commemorative badges of the Federal Agency of Maritime and River Transport "20 Years of Rosmorrechflot" for labor achievements and many years of diligent work. The awards were presented to the directors of the branches by Sergey Pylin, General  Director of FSUE "Rosmorport".

At the end of the solemn part of the event, the head of the company made a report on the results of the company's activity and the main tasks for the current year and the near future.

At the beginning of his speech he emphasized the key achievements of the enterprise based on the results of the past year. Thus, speaking about production indicators, the Head of FSUE "Rosmorport" noted that within the framework of the Federal Project "Development of Sea Ports", the implementation of 4 measures for the development of seaport infrastructure was completed in the reporting year. The total increase in seaport production capacity amounted to 27.7 million tons.

The enterprise carried out large-scale dredging works in the amount of 11.8 million cubic meters, including 6.8 million cubic meters to maintain navigation parameters in the Volga-Caspian Sea Shipping Canal.

Work continued to ensure uninterrupted operation of the ferry service to the Kaliningrad region and the Kerch ferry crossing, including the fulfillment of the authorities' instructions on comprehensive protection of the Kerch Strait transportation crossing.

FSUE "Rosmorport" also continues to fulfill its fleet renewal tasks, providing for the construction of vessels based on Russian designs with maximum saturation with domestic equipment. In 2024, 18 vessels were commissioned and construction of 9 new vessels, including a high-capacity dredger was began.

Listing other achievements over the past year, Sergey Pylin noted the successful completion of a number of activities on construction, technical re-equipment of facilities of navigation safety systems, as well as the continuation of measures to upgrade seaport infrastructure facilities.

Significant results were achieved in the implementation of digital development projects in the enterprise. In 2024, an Information System for Pilot Activities in the pilot zone (ISPA) based on domestic software was created. The work of ISPA in the seaports Big Port of Saint Petersburg, Astrakhan and Olya is recognized as stable and effective, and preparations are underway for its replication in other branches of the enterprise.

As part of the development of the enterprise's Situation Center, a monitoring system for automated level stations at seaports was successfully implemented to ensure centralized operational monitoring of data on sea level changes and increase efficiency during hydrographic and dredging operations.

Speaking about the main guidelines of FSUE "Rosmorport" for the medium term up to 2029, Sergey Pylin emphasized that the company will continue to implement strategically important industry tasks regulated by the Transport Strategy of the Russian Federation until 2030, the State Program of the Russian Federation "Development of the transport system", as well as the Federal project "Development of the backbone network of seaports".

One of the main directions of work for the next few years for the company and for the industry as a whole is to increase the volume of transportation along international transport corridors by 2030 by at least one and a half times compared to the level of 2021 by increasing the global competitiveness of routes.

The plans of FSUE "Rosmorport" for the maintenance, development and increased efficiency of infrastructure facilities in seaports and on the approaches to them are in line with the strategic documents of the Russian Federation adopted for the implementation of both national goals and sectoral goals for the development of the transport complex.

Sergey Pylin reminded that one of the main objectives of the company's operation is to ensure safety of navigation.

"This is our unconditional duty, which we have been fulfilling and which we will continue to fulfill by carrying out daily activities to ensure the safety of navigation in seaports and on approaches to them, including icebreaking, transportation safety, as well as maintaining the necessary depths."

In the final part Sergey Pylin thanked the employees of the enterprise, who continue to fulfill the tasks at a high level in the modern realities. The work of FSUE "Rosmorport" in 2024 was awarded in two nominations of the annual Rosmorrechflot "Industry Leader" contest - a victory in the category "Best Transport Infrastructure Entity in the Field of Transport Security" and a diploma in the category "Best Organization Providing Services in the Field of Ensuring Navigation (Marine/River)".

The Executive Director of the company began his report by thanking all the employees of FSUE "Rosmorport", noting that the year 2024 was a period of not only serious challenges, but also significant achievements.

Speaking about the priorities for the near future, Igor Shevchuk noted that the current situation requires a radical revision of traditional approaches to the formation of the revenue base.

"The current economic situation, characterized by declining ship calls and reduced port fees, is forcing us to look for new areas of growth while reallocating existing resources."

Among the key initiatives, which should ensure sustainable development of the company in the long term, were mentioned the increase of commercial efficiency of the fleet, modernization of existing facilities and creation of new repair complexes designed for the operation, maintenance and repair of the fleet, strengthening of positions in the market of dredging, as well as active development of the stevedoring services market.

In the final part of the report, Igor Shevchuk emphasized that the possibility of realizing the potential of the upcoming projects depends on the activity and involvement of each employee of FSUE "Rosmorport" in the common cause, and expressed confidence in achieving a new level of efficiency of the enterprise.
