The water area of the Ultramar terminal was put into operation as part of stage 2.1 of its reconstruction project
In accordance with the permission of Rosmorrechflot, the water area of the Ultramar multifunctional marine transshipment terminal in the seaport of Ust-Luga was put into operation as part of stage 2.1 of the reconstruction project. The work is carried out within the framework of the federal project "Development of the backbone network of seaports".
Stage 2.1 provides for the reconstruction of the water area in order to increase its area and deepen the bottom in the area of berth No. 1a to ensure the approach of design vessels. To achieve the design parameters (up to -17.2 m), FSUE "Rosmorport" dredged 949.4 thousand cubic meters on an area of 38.7 hectares.
The execution of these works, taking into account the previously introduced berthing complexes, will increase the competitiveness of the terminal and ensure safe entry of vessels with a draft of up to 15.35 m.
The implementation of stage 2.1 of the project will improve the operational characteristics of the terminal for receiving ovoid, hot briquetted iron (HBI), as well as cast iron from the onshore overhead warehouse and for their shipment to sea transport.
The total cargo turnover of the berthing complex as a result of the implementation of stage 2.1 will amount to 4.25 million tons per year, including flow roll – 2.75 million tons, HBI – 0.5 million tons, cast iron – 1 million tons.
The Ultramar multifunctional marine transshipment terminal is located in close proximity to Luga Fairway No. 19. The facility is designed for receiving bulk cargo from a shore warehouse, temporary storage and loading onto a ship by a ship-loading machine, as well as general cargo by balancing cranes.
