General Director of FSUE "Rosmorport" officially presented the senior management of the Arctic Basin Branch to the personnel

Sergey Pylin, General Director of FSUE "Rosmorport", during his working trip to the Murmansk Region, held a meeting on the organization of the Arctic Basin Branch of the enterprise. The new united division was formed on the basis of the Murmansk Branch, to which the liquidated Arkhangelsk Branch was added as a department.

"We have been working on the reorganization of the Murmansk and Arkhangelsk Branches for a long time. This work was completed in February," said Sergey Pylin.

General Director of FSUE "Rosmorport" officially introduced Vladimir Sedykh, Director of the Arctic Basin Branch, and Vladimir Khokhlov, Deputy Director of the Arctic Basin Branch - Head of the Arkhangelsk Department, to the personnel.

Prior to his new appointment, Vladimir Sedykh was acting head of the Murmansk Branch. He also has experience in successfully managing the Arkhangelsk Branch, which was repeatedly awarded the title "Best Branch of the Enterprise". Vladimir Khokhlov, who has taken over the Arkhangelsk Department, was previously Deputy Director for Fleet of the Arkhangelsk Branch.

The Head of FSUE "Rosmorport" noted that in the current economic and political conditions the company and especially the branch are facing great strategic goals related to the integrated development of the Murmansk Transport Hub (MTH) and increasing its carrying capacity to improve the competitiveness of the Northern Sea Route.

The main objectives of the development of port infrastructure in the Murmansk region were outlined at a meeting chaired by the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Roman Starovoit and attended by the Governor of the Murmansk region Andrey Chibis, which took place earlier in March.

In particular, the key projects for the development of the Northern Sea Route are the construction of the Lavna coal transshipment complex and oil terminals in Vitino and Kandalaksha. Another large-scale area of work is the project of Rosatom State Corporation to create a new global route - the Great NSR. Currently, the branch provides icebreaking and tugboat services, as well as VTS services on the Northern Sea Route.

In addition to the tasks related to the quality of the existing services, the new structural subdivision has the goal of finding new types of activities to replenish the revenue base of FSUE "Rosmorport".

"Our branch has doubled in size both in the amount of employees and geography. The beginning of the branch consolidation process has passed: something has already been done, processes have been established, but there are still many tasks ahead. Now we are all working for one result, and we would like it to be positive," said the Head of the Arctic Basin Branch.

At the end of the meeting Sergey Pylin thanked the employees for their work and emphasized that the specialists employed by the company, with their accumulated professional experience, knowledge and unique competencies are the main value of FSUE "Rosmorport".

In addition to meeting with the branch personnel, Sergey Pylin discussed the prospects for the development of the Murmansk Commercial Seaport with Pavel Oleinik, Executive Director of MMTP JSC, as part of his working visit to the Murmansk Region. Within the framework of the meeting the issues of joint activities and further exploitation of the leased property were voiced.

In February 2025, amendments were made to the Charter of FSUE "Rosmorport", according to which the Murmansk Branch was renamed the Arctic Basin Branch. In the same month, the Regulations on the Arctic Basin Branch were approved.

Today, the FSUE “Rosmorport” Arctic Basin Branch is one of the largest branches of the enterprise. The personnel of the Arctic Basin Branch consists of over 900 people. Using the federal property assigned to the branch, the FSUE “Rosmorport” Arctic Basin Branch  provides a wide range of services, primarily related to ensuring safe navigation in the waters of the seaports of Arkhangelsk, Varandey, Dikson, Dudinka, Kandalaksha, Mezen, Murmansk, Naryan-Mar, Onega, Sabetta and Khatanga and the approaches to them.
