Senior management of FSUE "Rosmorport" inspected the construction of the international sea terminal facilities in Pionersky

As part of a working visit to the Kaliningrad Region, the delegation of FSUE "Rosmorport", headed by General Director Sergey Pylin, visited the international sea terminal under construction near the town of Pionersky, Kaliningrad Region, and inspected the progress of works on the construction of the sea terminal building and infrastructure facilities.

Upon completion of the terminal inspection, Sergey Pylin held a working meeting related to the construction of seaport infrastructure in Pionersky with representatives of the developer - FSI "Rostransmodernization" and contractors - FSBI “Marine Rescue Service” (Morspassluzhba) and GEOIZOL LLC.

Within the framework of the state contract for the creation of federal property facilities under the control of FSI "Rostransmodernization", construction of hydraulic structures, onshore buildings and structures, engineering networks and systems, creation of artificial land plots No. 1 and No. 2 are being carried out. The construction of the passenger terminal building, radio relay mast, storm water drainage system, transport security equipment systems and development of working documentation these facilities is being carried out at the expense of FSUE "Rosmorport".

After completion of construction and commissioning of the terminal facilities under construction, the complex will be able to accommodate cargo and passenger and cruise vessels. The terminal's capacity when reaching its design capacity will be up to 225 thousand passengers and up to 80 thousand units of Ro-Ro per year.

In August 2024, the first start-up complex of the terminal in Pionersky was put into operation. In the same month, the terminal received the Antey cargo and passenger ferry for the first time to fulfil the instructions of the President of Russia and the Ministry of Transport of Russia regarding the organization of ferry services to the Kaliningrad region. Since the end of December 2024, the Antey ferry has been operating regular voyages to Pionersky.

As part of the working trip, the senior management of FSUE "Rosmorport" also visited the railway ferry complex in Baltiysk and the railway ferry "General Chernyakhovsky", having discussed during the visit with representatives of the Kaliningrad Department of the North-Western Basin Branch of the enterprise the concept of development of the railway ferry complex within the framework of fulfilment of the order of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin from 20.05.2022 № Pr-881, as well as issues of transport security.

Kamil Diyarov, captain of the ferry, reported to Sergey Pylin that the vessel was fully loaded and ready for the voyage to the seaport of Ust-Luga, as well as the successful operation of the ferry in autonomous mode.

The capacity of the seaport of Kaliningrad is 31.3 million tons, of which 24.2 million tons for dry cargo and 7.1 million tons for bulk cargo. The volume of cargo transshipment at the Kaliningrad seaport increased by 7.5 % in 2024 compared to 2023.

Currently, the region's transport accessibility is provided on a permanent basis by 20 to 26 vessels of more than ten operators, including three railway ferries of FSUE "Rosmorport" (Marshal Rokossovsky, General Chernyakhovsky and Baltiysk). In 2024, 1.93 million tons of cargo were overloaded at the ferry complexes in Baltiysk and Pionersky, including 25 thousand units of rolling machinery and more than 25 thousand wagons.
