Russia's Minister of Transport presents state award to General Chernyakhovsky captain

On February 21, on the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day, the Russian Ministry of Transport hosted a solemn award ceremony for the best representatives of the transport complex. Awards to employees who achieved success in their work due to professional skill, perseverance, and high responsibility for their assigned work were presented by Russia's Minister of Transport Roman Starovoit.

Among the awardees is Artyom Kazantsev, captain of the ferry General Chernyakhovsky, who works at the FSUE "Rosmorport" North-Western Basin Branch. By order of the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, Artyom Kazantsev was awarded the Petr Gubonin Medal for his labor achievements and conscientious work in transport.

Artyom Kazantsev has been working at FSUE "Rosmorport" since 2021. During this time, he has established himself as a highly qualified and hardworking specialist, a responsible and proactive leader who is able to quickly make informed decisions in difficult situations.

Artyom's extensive experience working on vessels of various types and tonnage allowed him to become an experienced boatmaster and a highly qualified specialist in his field. The captain is currently operating the twin-fuel eco-ferry General Chernyakhovsky, the second of a series of innovative vessels in the country that will provide transport accessibility to the Kaliningrad Region starting in 2022. The key advantage of ferries is the presence of a power plant that uses liquefied natural gas or low-sulfur diesel as fuel, which significantly reduces harmful emissions into the atmosphere.

Currently, under the leadership of Kazantsev, the General Chernyakhovsky ferry runs steadily on the Seaport of Ust-Luga – Seaport of Kaliningrad ferry line, providing reliable communication between the westernmost region of Russia and the main territory.

FSUE "Rosmorport" continues to provide stable ferry services on the Seaport of Ust-Luga – Seaport of Kaliningrad ferry line, which is strategically important for Russia, connecting the Kaliningrad Region with the main part of Russia, thanks to the well-coordinated work of ferry crews in the conditions of the  maximum vessel load.
