General Director of FSUE “Rosmorport” takes part in meetings on development of the seaport of Arkhangelsk
A delegation of FSUE “Rosmorport”, headed by General Director Sergey Pylin, paid a working visit to Arkhangelsk. The management of the enterprise inspected the infrastructure of the seaport of Arkhangelsk and the vessels of FSUE “Rosmorport” operating in the seaport water area and on approaches to it, and also participated in a number of meetings dedicated to the development of the port’s capacities.
General Director met with Yuri Popov, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Arkhangelsk Region. General managers discussed the prospects of creating a deep-water area of the seaport of Arkhangelsk. The project is planned to be implemented in accordance with the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of 22.09.2023 “On approval of the comprehensive plan for the development of the Arkhangelsk transport hub for the period up to 2035”.
Under the project, it is planned to build port infrastructure, as well as road and railway approaches to the port. Currently, Lenmorniiproekt JSC is working on the development of an investment declaration and justification of the cargo base of the planned complex.
In addition, the meeting discussed the current state and development prospects of the seaport of Arkhangelsk and summed up the results of the work over the past year. At the end of 2024, the port's cargo turnover increased by 40 % compared to 2023.
The head of FSUE “Rosmorport” also held a meeting with Nikolai Nesterov, master of the seaport of Arkhangelsk. The main topics for discussion were pilotage operations, the interaction of the Arkhangelsk Branch of the enterprise with the ice headquarters during the current winter navigation, dredging operations in the port area and on approach channels, the operation of vessel traffic systems and engineering and technical means of ensuring transport security, as well as interaction with interested executive authorities regarding compliance with transport security requirements in seaports.
During the meeting of General Director of FSUE “Rosmorport” with the staff of the Arkhangelsk Branch, the 2024 results of the enterprise's activities in the region were summed up and plans for the current year were outlined. Sergey Pylin expressed confidence that the professionalism of the branch's employees would help to further high-quality and timely fulfill of the tasks facing the team. Additionally, the list of services provided by the branch and the possibility of expanding it in order to increase the enterprise's revenue base were discussed.
The Arkhangelsk Branch currently operates 30 berths. Under the operational management, there are vessels of the service and auxiliary fleet, including icebreakers, dredging, pilot and buoy vessels.
Currently, the icebreaker assistance for vessels following to and from the seaport of Arkhangelsk is conducted by three icebreakers of FSUE “Rosmorport”: Kapitan Chadaev and Kapitan Evdokimov are operating on the Northern Dvina, while Dikson is operating in the White Sea. Icebreaker assistance in the waters of the seaport of Sabetta is carried out by the icebreaker Tor.
